Designed by Jorge Mastropietro Architects, this project is an expression of our search for a high level of design with a high commitment to the environment. This project seeks to blur the line between the inside and the nature outside. An overhang creates a modern version of the traditional veranda, creating a buffer between interior and exterior. This space produces a poolside, covered gathering area with a view of the lake. XS House is a proposed single family residence to be built in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The interior remains open and blends into the exterior environs of the home, made possible because of an absence of interior columns. Therefore, unrestricted views persist throughout the house. The veranda is a reference to an old century house, but with a modern approach and aesthetic. The exterior water feature evokes both a pleasant sight and sound. It gives the home a kinetic, natural energy. With a lack of interior columns, the unrestricted views go from the front to the back of the house, again focusing the views outward. The bedrooms are uniquely arranged in a pod-formation that are distinctly visible in plan and from the outside of the house.
